Sweet Pepper "Centinel".
Ancient Turkish "Goat's Horn" type.
Mid-season sweet pepper variety.
This time-tested Turkish heirloom produces an abundance of very thin, gracefully elongated fruits 10 to 15 cm long, turning a rich dark red when fully ripe. Thanks to their thin walls, they are perfect for drying (homemade paprika powder), grilling, or eating fresh.
Plant height: 60 to 100 cm.
Shape: Elongated, spiral-like.
Texture: Firm, crunchy.

* Gardener's ABC: Growing Pepper Seedlings.
Seedlings are watered abundantly 3-4 hours before pricking out. Transplant them into individual pots (8x8 cm or 10x10 cm) filled with soil similar to the sowing mix. Water the soil beforehand with a nutrient solution (diluted manure or urea).
Plant seedlings up to the cotyledon leaves ("up to their shoulders"). Shade the pots for 2-3 days to help them settle, then move back to a sunny spot.
Watering: Once a week (do not overwater to avoid "blackleg" disease) with settled water at +25°C.
Menu for peppers:
First feeding 10 days after pricking out: 10g urea, 40g superphosphate, 10g potassium sulphate per 10L water.
Second feeding 1.5 weeks later, doubling the phosphorus dose. Rinse leaves with clean water after feeding.
Temperature: First 4 days after transplanting: day +20+22°C, night +18+20°C.
Hardening off: Start a week after pricking out. Cool seedlings at +13+15°C for 2-3 hours daily. Repeat a week before planting out.

6 Common Mistakes in Pepper Growing
1. Direct sowing vs Pricking out: Peppers have weak root regeneration. Sowing directly into peat pots avoids transplant shock, saving you 15-20 days of growth.
2. Temperature swings: Soil must be +25-30°C for germination. Cold soil = no seedlings. After germination, drop to +15-18°C for 2 days to prevent "legginess", then maintain +22-25°C.
3. Lack of light: Seedlings need at least 12 hours of light. Use grow lights if necessary, otherwise, plants will be weak.
4. Warm but shady spots: A huge mistake. Shade causes stretching and later leads to bud drop and yield loss.
5. Improper nutrition: "A hungry plant is an angry plant." Feed with ammonium nitrate at the 1-2 true leaf stage. Use a complete NPK fertilizer two weeks before planting out.
6. Ignoring pests: Aphids and mites can destroy your crop before it starts. Monitor leaves closely and plant only healthy seedlings.
The result: A correctly grown 60-day-old seedling has 12-15 dark green leaves, a thick stem, and is 20-25 cm tall.
